Money Saving Blogs: The Top 5 Websites to Help You Live Life Frugally
83More and more people are becoming frugal these days in an attempt to make the most of each check that comes through the door. Many are frugal by necessity as jobs are scarce and some are experiencing pay cuts, layoffs, and even total job loss.
Starting out on this journey can be somewhat difficult if you have never worried about saving money before, and it can be a hard lesson to learn on your own. Where can one find the best deals? When is the best time to do shopping? How do you save money on groceries? Can you purchase nice gifts without spending a lot of money? These are all questions for which a new bargainista may not have answers.
Thankfully, with the power of the Internet at our fingertips, a few who are well versed in the area of saving money have come to our aid. Here are my top five picks for online blogs that make saving money easier for us all!
Hip2save
This is a rather addicting blog that many find themselves checking more than once each day. Run by a mother who learned the lesson of over-spending the hard way, Hip is very dedicated to bringing her readers lots of new and exciting posts each day. You can expect to be updated on the hottest of Internet deals to be had each day, as well as freebies and links to great printable coupons that you would not know about otherwise. This site is great for anyone trying to live life on a budget and make each dollar stretch to its furthest potential!
One of the things that I love about Hip is that she keeps her material so fresh and interesting. Each Monday a new video about saving money is posted, and there are frequent reader contests and great giveaways. This site boasts an unbelievable number of followers, and once you visit, it will not be hard to see why!

Christian PF
Anything from budgeting to getting out of debt and making extra money online is discussed on his site that is a must for anyone needing a little direction in the area of finances. The posts are oh-so-helpful, building around topics that are meant to help the average individual with financial questions. There are also some helpful articles on banking and insurance to help you get the most for your money. One of my favorite posts on this site is "6 Things You Can Buy That Will Pay For Themselves In A Year" .
She Saved
This site is quite similar to Hip to Save, but seems to offer a different set of deals. I would recommend becoming a subscriber to both, as this will ensure that you are aware of all the deals to be had.
Southern Savers
If you live anywhere in the southern area of the United States and are interested in grocery shopping with coupons, Southern Savers can be very beneficial in that it does all the hard work for you for free! You could spend hours trying to match store sales with coupons, or you could pay a coupon service to do this for you each week; however, this site offers the inside scoop on drugstore shopping, deals, and coupon matchups for a long list of grocery stores. One of the advantages to this site is that you can often become informed about unadvertised deals and sales. There are so many people who comment on the posts and give tips about what they found on their recent shopping trip.
Money Saving Methods
This site is somewhat different from the others but still offers valuable insight on various topics. This blog offers a lot of general information for those seeking to take advantage of things such as bank offers, mystery shopping, online surveys and focus groups, freebies, and rebates. If you are interested in these topics, this is the best source of information I have found. She is very up-front and easily lays out clear directions and instructions that could only come from someone with experience.
It seems like the best plan is to subscribe to these sites RSS feed so that you are sent a daily email with all the latest deals and can check them easily from your email account. Hip 2 Save does offer a lot of limited time deals, so you may find it better to check throughout the day if you are interested in getting in on them.
Another fun aspect of being involved with these sites is that there are great giveaways posted often. It adds a fun factor to the seriousness of living a thrifty lifestyle…and you might just win something really nice!

Another good website is http://socialdealmap.com It is a very unique deal aggregation site with location awareness. When you open that site, it looks like open a
google map (and indeed it is made of google map). Instead of giving you directions, It pinpoints all local deals around.
For local restaurant, spa, gym, child care, show, museum, movie, 90% of the time, people are paying the full price. By checking Social Deal Map and plan ahead, You will save a lot on these bills.
People can simply move or zoom in the map to find some cool deals. You can view the deal on the info bubble on the map, or, if you prefer, the left hand side show all the deals within the map range and you can flip the pages or reduce the amount by zooming in the map. It
is also convenient for people who commute travel around to plan ahead and find deals on their way
Katiem2~ I'm glad you found the step-by-step guide helpful.
www.OurCouponHome.com is a great website dedicated to finding the best deals!!

I have been looking at a new site called blastcoupons.com to see if they can help me save money on at least my daily staples. There are so many coupon sites out there I figure I should pick one and grow with it. maybe if I comment on what I need on the site, the owners will set up a coupon program with the businesses I frequent.
